Over 60 cases have been reported in the US.
Attributed to the disease are 159 deaths in Mexico, and 1300 patients there are under observation.

A warning came out saying that asthma sufferers should be very careful.
The first swine-flu-related death in the US occured in Houston yesterday.
Schools have shut down. Parents are starting to do more than worry.

Oral Cancer Awareness

Over the past few years, we’ve seen ViziLite, then VELscope hit the market. Dr. Blaze publicized the importance of oral cancer screening and patient education last year through his editor’s articles in Dental Economics last year. OralCancerFoundation.org tells us some striking statistics that make oral cancer seem like a significant problem. Over 30K people are diagnosed annually, and 7500 die. Even with increased awareness, early detection, and publicity, the mortality and incidence rates for oral cancer have not decreased.
