Dental Team Training & Integration Poll Results from Dental Products Report

According to a recent DPR survey on training and integration, 86% of respondents agree that initial training is important when implementing a new technology, such as a laser. Follow-up training is also important, having earned a nod from 65% of respondents. As for software and equipment training, the numbers were similar. If training is so important, what’s the hang up?

Over 60 cases have been reported in the US.

Oral Cancer Awareness

Over the past few years, we’ve seen ViziLite, then VELscope hit the market. Dr. Blaze publicized the importance of oral cancer screening and patient education last year through his editor’s articles in Dental Economics last year. tells us some striking statistics that make oral cancer seem like a significant problem. Over 30K people are diagnosed annually, and 7500 die. Even with increased awareness, early detection, and publicity, the mortality and incidence rates for oral cancer have not decreased.
