Poisoned Toothpaste?

Dr. Mao, the health guru at askdrmao.com, writes that beauty and grooming supplies, including toothpastes, can contain phenols, a chemical known to cause cancer. The doctor says, “…ingesting phenols in even small amounts can cause respiratory failure and other serious ailments.” A search for “organic toothpaste” on the ADA website turns up naught, but Dr. Mao says that if you want to avoid phenols in your toothpaste, buy organic.
