The world of dental impressions is evolving – and this change is good. Really good. Showcased at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting last week, 3M ESPE’s new Lava™ Chairside Oral Scanner takes digital impressions – sound familiar? A few months ago, DentalBlogs covered the iTero, which does the same thing. As a recap, digital impressions are 3D images that take the place of traditional impressions. Both patients and doctors are saying, "Thank you…and it’s about time!"
Lava COS is not yet available, but 3M ESPE plans to roll it out by region, rather than make it available to all dentists at once.
