Overweight People May Be More Prone to Bad Breath

January 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Dr. Mel Rosenberg of TelAviv University has dedicated his professional studies to making the world a better place by authoring five books on malodor, inventing odor-decreasing products, and creating the SmellWell website, a community dedicated to humans having a pleasant odor. In a recent TelAviv University study of 88 people of various sizes, halitosis was found more often in the overweight participants. While no one knows the scientific link between halitosis and obesity, Dr. Rosenberg says, "This finding should hold for the general public." He believes that dry mouth, a condition prevalent in overweight people, could be the link. However, more research is necessary.
