If you have Internet access on your phone or laptop while you’re twiddling your thumbs, or if you can spare a few minutes to upload an audio podcast to your MP3 before you leave the house, check out the FREE videos and audio podcasts for dentists, available on these (and many other) websites…

From whitening with potassium nitrate and fluoride to watching a mini dental implant procedure, the podcasts at DPR cover a wide range of topics.

ADA Podcasts
Since 2006, the ADA has developed a small library of podcasts that address problems and concerns dentists face in business. Episodes include “How to Reduce Stress,” “Finding and Keeping the Patient,” and “Be a Great Boss.” The ADA is also introducing Oral Health Video Podcast programming soon; production will begin this year.

Subjects ranging from developing an enviro-friendly dental practice to digital radiography to ergonomics are covered in this library of podcasts.

YouTube – The Biggie
If you aren’t familiar with YouTube, step into the 21st Century, please! YouTube lets you set up an account and save your favorites to a Quick List. The site goes much deeper, though, offering subscriptions, networking, groups, comments, and more. While there are some undesirable videos out there, YouTube provides a wealth of informational videos from respected sources. Here are a few to wet your whistle:

The Dawson Academy

Kirk Behrendt of ACT Dental

USC –University of Southern California

And you can watch videos that other dentists have produced, as well. These range from educational topics to testimonials to office tours and staff introductions.

Just for Fun! You can even watch the old ADA cartoons from the 60’s and 70’s!
