Tooth Regeneration Instead of Fillings

Ok – the research is still underway and it may take 10 years to come to fruition, but this is worth noting. Scientists are working on solutions to regenerate dentin and enamel naturally, which would replace the need for fillings – amalgam, composite, or porcelain. With acid erosion increasing in the mouths of Americans, this research may be very timely. Dr. Sally Marshall of the University of California at San Francisco will publish in the Journal of Structural Biology a report about regenerating dentin with an electrically charged calcium solution.
