Sedation is an important adjunct to comprehensive care because many candidates with broken down mouths are in their situation because they are terrified. Doing oral sedation with Helcion (a drug that has a great amnesia factor), IV sedation, or bringing in an anesthesiologist is wise. I personally don’t like to do deep sedation without an anesthesiologist. When you bring in an anesthesiologist, the patient has a separate bill for anesthesia; you don’t have to pay for the service up front.
