Dairy Products Boost Periodontal Health

An estimated 80% of Americans have sum form of gum disease. As we well know, gum disease can cause overall health complicaitons and increase a person’s risk for serious health problems. In the Journal of Periodontology, a recent study revealed that people who regularly eat or drink dairy products, like cheese and milk, are less likely to suffer from gum disease. The study included 942 people between 40 and 79 years of age. Those participants that ate or drank 55 grams or more in dairy products (daily) had less occurrence of gum disease.
