Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk: The Dentist as the Dental Patient

November 1st, 2007 · No Comments

I had my mouth restored by Bill Wynne in Raleigh, NC about four years ago. One of the most important things we can do as dentists is practice what we preach. If we’re talking to patients about optimum care, we need to make sure that our mouths are in tip-top shape. Offer this same care to your dental team.

I was slow to seek restorative dental work for myself, but it was the best thing I ever did, from an empathy standpoint. I felt, smelled, and heard what the dental patient experiences… I lived it. Dr. Wynne made my functional and esthetic changes well, so I experienced the same benefits that my patients will experience.

If you choose to have reconstructive or esthetic work done, it won’t only help your health, but also your practice.
