Got Goals?

October 2nd, 2007 · No Comments

You have a business or you’re building a business – a dental practice – and things are putting right along. But what do you want tomorrow to look like? Where will you be this time next year? In five years? In any area of life, you can mold your future by creating attainable goals, then working to achieve them. Lose weight and get healthy, work toward higher education, or plan your retirement this way. But if you never set expectations, how can you know what you’re aiming for?

Dr. Roger P. Levin of Levin Group, a practice management consulting firm, shares his advice for creating leadership and goals in this .pdf article. You’ll quickly see how any dental practice (and dentist!) can benefit from developing good, achievable goals for growth and success. Dental Economics offers an interesting article on goal setting entitled "Asking the Big Questions About Your Practice and Your Life," and it’s also authored by Dr. Levin. Learn more about the Levin Group at their website: www.levingroup.com.

In Goal Setting Exercise by Dr. Schneiderman at the online Dental Practice Management forum for UMD New Jersey, you can find a few questions and exercises to get your goal-setting juices flowing.

Find out what kind of "vision" you’re portraying by asking friends and associates what they see in you. Debra Moorhead, career development guru, tells you how in her September 26th blog.
