Photographic tips for trips

July 26th, 2005 · No Comments

If you are going on a trip for longer than 1 day, here are my pearls for travel.

1. Electrical tape- use this to cover your camera name so as not to bring attention to theives and to potential candid portraits you might want to take. Especially if you travel outside the country..

2. Several compact flah cards. Preferrably 512MB or 1 GB cards.

3. Data transfer capturing devise. I like the Epson P-2000. See previous post.

4. Several lenses depending on your likes and type of photography you want to photograph.

5. 2 camera bodies. G-d forbid one breaks especially if you want to continue to shoot pictures.

6. Polarizing filter, Uv filter.

7. Several batteries and charger. If you are out of the country take the electrical converter for that country.

8. Monopod or tri-pod. Light weight.

9. Multipurpose camera back pack. Stire gear and other items. Clothes, food, etc.

10. Weather protection devise for your gear. See previous post.

11. Storage belt devise for capture cards. Gives you easy access to cards when the one you are using is full.

12. Creative mind. There is no such thing as a bad picture. Shoot away and edit later.

13. Lens cloth and cleaner.

14. Camera manuel.

15. NEVER< NEVER pack your gear in your suitcase. TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and inspectors love to go through your baggage and shop for items at your expense. Good luck trying to get TSA to re-imburse you for lost items. Carry your gear with you always.

16. Have fun baby.
