Training Your Dental Team

January 29th, 2008 · No Comments

A lot of doctors make a mistake by spending time and effort training themselves, but not their team. (One of my employees, Shannon Pace, offers in-office team training and teaches team courses at the Dawson Center.) Training is important for the growth of a practice and for the team member to grow with the doctor. I suggest that dentist train team members by blocking time and sharing their newly acquired knowledge with team members. When this doesn’t happen, the new ideas lose momentum and don’t become part of the culture of the practice, so you slip into old habits. The best thing to do is to formulate a vision, then make a concerted effort to train team in the right direction. Our new Dawson

curriculum for dental teams is aimed at this philosophy.
