Align’s Three New Dental Phenoms

January 17th, 2008 · No Comments

Align, the California company that brought us Invisalign, is launching three new products, per their press release on January 8. The innovations in orthodontic therapy include "a subscription-based orthodontic retention product, a non-adult comprehensive (teen) product, and a turnkey version of Invisalign tot help doctors plan and manage cases more efficiently." What are these three miracles of orthodontic science?

Vivera (available now), a product featured on the cover of Dental Products Report in December 2007, are retainers made with the same material as Invisalign. The retainers are mailed to the patient or dentist four times a year, based on a subscription. See http://www.viveraretainers.com for pricing and details.

Invisalign Teen (available late 2008) is much like traditional Invisalign, but it has features that help dentists determine patient compliance and it also takes into account the erupting teeth and root issues that teens’ mouths go through. Up to three free replacement aligners are included in the cost of treatment.

Invisalign ClinAssist (available late 2008/early 2009) offers dentists support to "keep cases on track" and "staged shipment of aligners based on treatment progress." The purpose is to make the dentist’s job easier.
