Patient Education

December 13th, 2007 · No Comments

In our office, we have SmileVision in the waiting room playing on a loop, and we also use CAESY sometimes. I’ve heard from some of my peers that CAESY’s new version is great. Knowledgeable employees are invaluable, too, for patient ed. I prefer to use digital photography for the bulk of patient education in my office, though. I like to show my patients real results.

We take photos of a patient’s current situation, as well as the results, so that he or she can appreciate their smile’s transformation. Before treatment, we’ll show the patient before and after photos of some of our similar cases so that they can get an idea of what to expect. I like my Canon 30B camera because it’s versatile and easy to use for both clinical and marketing photography. Nikon is another great camera that I would recommend.
