In the Know: The ADA’s Dental Market Index

October 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

This month, the ADA announced that it is developing "the first dental market index" (DMI) to serve its members. For general industry information, you can download The Dental Trade Alliance 2007 Annual Meeting Report. It addresses: an overview of the industry, market growth drivers, Wall Street’s opinion, recent sector performance, and research/surveys. The ADA’s DMI, however, is intended to "provide quick and easy-to-understand information about the state of the dental economy to our members so they can manage their own practices better," according to ADA’s executive director, James B. Bramson.

The DMI will cover patient billings, lab services, insurance billings, and the purchase of dental supplies – topics at the pulse of the dental practice. With a little help from their friends at Henry Schein, the ADA will seek dentists in practice willing to contribute quarterly information for the DMI. Of course, the contributors’ identities will be confidential.

If you want to participate, contact Sandy Zelner at the ADA, 312-440-2500, ext. 2571.
