I just discovered the ultimate new system for delivering music throughout your dental office. It is the Sonos Digital Music System (www.Sonos.com). It wirelessly streams digital music, internet radio, and Rhapsody through out your office. There is no need to run wires. The best part is that each room can control their own music source […]

I am very excited about a new alliance I have formed with JP Consultants. Starting in January I will be working with JP leading the Doctor Leadership Mastership Program. The first course is scheduled for Jan 11–13 in San Diego.
I have know and worked with JP for over twenty years. They have consistently provided excellent professional training for dentists and their teams. Look here http://www.jpconsultants.com/home.htm [1] for more about the Institute and the mastership programs.

OrthoClear and Invisalign
October 24th, 2006 · No Comments
OrthoClear is no longer in business. OrthoClear was providing clear orthodontic alligners based on the highly successful Invisalign model. The failure of OrthoClear has stranded thousands of patients mid treatment. Align Technologies, the company behind Invisalign has extended a very generous offer to all the stranded OrthoClear patients and the dentists who were treating them. Allign will provide the alligners needed to complete the treatment at no cost.
The patients will need records to allow Allign to make the needed alligners and the treating dentists will need to be Invisalign certified. Look here http://www.patientsfirstprogram.com/ [1] for details of this program.

ADA Hi Tech BUZZ
October 22nd, 2006 · No Comments
The biggest high tech buzz last week in Vegas was Cone Beam CT. This technology has really started to be noticed. Kodak has partnered with Iluma and Sirona introduced a new cone beam called Galileos. This technology has amazing potential and we are just starting to understand how we will be using it. The CT machines are still too expensive for most dentists ($150,000 to $200,000) and have limited applications at this time. However the future will be amazing!

Dentrix G-2
October 21st, 2006 · No Comments
I just got back from the ADA meeting in Vegas. I saw a complete working version of the Dentrix G-2 product. It is awesome! Dentrix is planning to start shipping the new version on Nov.1. However the roll out will take several months so be patient.
The big changes are all in the chart module. It has a completely new look and allows for much more flexibility. And the 3–D presenter must be seen to be appreciated.

ADA Annual Session 2006: [1]
Technology Day – Core concepts Speaker(s): Lawrence F. Emmott DDS; Don’t even think about going high tech until you have heard this program! This presentation discusses the four core concepts that will determine your success with using technology. Without these concepts many dentists make foolish decisions because they have no core concept of what technology could or should be doing for them. There is something for both the beginner and the high-tech power user.
I am excited to be presenting several sessions at the ADA meeting in Las Vegas. The session above is on Tech Day Oct 17 and I am doing another session on Thursday Oct 19.
