Windows Restore
December 12th, 2005 · No Comments
Problem: Can I undo any changes I have made to the computer? Is there a way to go back to how the computer was before installing a program, or worse yet I caught this virus, or …whatever??
Answer: Yes, Windows includes a tool called System Restore that will make a record of how the computer is set up, and if there are any problems, it allows you to revert the system to how it was before.
To use it, click on the Start button, then on All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, then System Restore. Click on ‘Create a restore point’ and follow the instructions.
To restore the computer to a restore point, go to System Restore again, as above, and click on ‘Restore my computer to an earlier time’ and follow the instructions. Any recently saved files, email or Internet bookmarks should remain as they are and will not be deleted, but any programs installed since the restore point was created will be removed.

Blogging will be reduced a bit for a few weeks. I crashed badly on my mountain bike and fractured my right clavicle. Ouuch needless to say it makes typing difficult, not to mention dentistry.
