Digital Dirt in your Camera

July 28th, 2005 · No Comments

I dont know about you but for me a lens change at an event such as a beach or windy baseball tourney or whatever exposes your sensor to dirt. Once you get dirt on the sensor, it is a bitch to remove. I have had to send my camera once to Andy (Norman camera) and I don’t intend to do it again. I ran across a pretty cool devise for thise if you who shoot in the field (ie. snow, sand, Environments that have the potential for dirt to get in your lenses or camera) and the assignment requires a change of lenses. Kinetronics (www.kinetronics.com) has developed a self containing portable clean room. It comes with their Clean Air Bag (CAB) which filters clean air into a clear vinyl air chamber where you can change lenses safely. You can use this devise in the field or in a studio It has a dual zipper for the camera and lens loading and a separate compartment for your hands. Not for everyone but I think it deserves a look.
