Apple’s Airport Extreme

July 13th, 2005 · No Comments

ExtremeApple sells a 802.1b wireless port that broadcasts the internet wirelessly up to 150 feet.  The really cool thing is that you can plug a USB printer into it and share the printer with any computer on the network.  I can print from my Sony VAIO laptop, PC based software through this hub via WiFi. Really cool.  Of course my Apple’s connect this way as well.  Apple’s Bonjour software is the link.Express  Apple has a download on their web site for this software.  You can add Apple’s Airport Express units to extend your network another 150 feet.  It plugs into any electrical outlet.  You can plug a USB printer into these units and print to them.  Printers can be put anywhere now.  Each Express also has an audio jack that you can pplug into an audio palyer (stereo, boombox, etc.) and play iTumes from your main computer source.  Tunes throughout the house with the same source!
