New Patient Tour????

I am always interested in how many offices offer a New Patient Tour to their new clients. Many times I hear, “well we are a small office they won’t need a tour.” WRONG!!! The purpose of the office tour, is not to show them around but IS to create value in your practice and the Team members. It is important that the “New”patient understands why you are different from any other practice they have been in, you really care. All the high tech things you offer and incorporate into your office should be part of the tour. Brief introductions to the varies Team members helps build value in them. It can be done as simple as; “Mrs. Smith this is the room our hygienist Sarah works in. She has had advanced training in helping you take great care of your teeth and gum tissue.” People appreciate feeling at home in your office. Share all the amenities you offer with them, do not assume they will help them selves you have to offer these things to them initially.Make note of the things they like, so on their next visit they will be there for them before they ask. Like the Ritz Carlton, meeting their clients needs before they ask. Remember the entire purpose of the “New” patient tour is to create value in the dentist, the Team, and the quality of dental treatment provided by the office. It is part of the true “WOW” factor we all talked about years ago. It is part of the bonding that takes place on their first visit.
